The Assistant General Manager, reporting to the General Manager (GM) / CEO, is responsible for supporting and assisting the GM in a wide range of duties across the broad operations of the organization. This position is Senior to all others in the Cooperative except for the General Manager. This individual must provide effective leadership and management of operational activities related to staffing, finance and accounting, marketing and sales, contracts, plant operations and projects. Acts to assist GM to coordinate activities of individual departments, bringing harmony to the flow of work and helps ensure departments are running efficiently. Enables the GM to work most effectively and manages the company in the GM’s absence. Education and Experience

A Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field and a minimum of 5 years work experience in telecom management; or a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years work experience in related management level. HCTC is in an aggressive “next stage” of network modernization emphasizing Fiber-to-the-Premise as well as CLEC expansion. HCTC — MANAGER, ENGINEERING 

The Manager, Engineering directly supervises or manages all engineering activities, including designing projects, staking lines to be built, and Rights-of-Way (ROW) acquisition in compliance with RUS specifications. Consults with Network Planning regarding outside plant engineering design specifications. Implements network expansion and modernization plans provided by Network Planning. Approves new installations and coordinates Special Assemblies required to address unique customer requirements. May assist in coordinating the installation of subscriber carrier and other transmission systems. 

Education and Experience 

Bachelor of Science in an Engineering Discipline plus 5 years of engineering or engineering and construction experience either in the Telephone or Power Industries is a requirement. Post-secondary education is attractive. Professional Engineer Certification (PE) highly attractive. PMP/PPM or Black Belt in Project Management is desired. Prior supervisory experience is required.

HCTC — TECHNOLOGY SERVICE ASSOCIATE 

The Technology Service Associate provides technical assistance and support to our residential and business customers. The Technology Service Associate works with customers to recommend, sell, install, setup, test, and repair customer owned networks and devices that make use of the telecommunications network. The Technology Service Associate has appreciation for technology and helping people, and can effectively communicate the purpose and operations of technology to a novice. The Technology Service Associate facilitates the complete solution of product sales, upgrades, installations and service at the customer’s location and at the office. 

The Technology Service Associate will serve as the liaison between the customer and the telecommunications network technical staff. The Technology Service Associate must work efficiently and must effectively manage their work schedule coordination with dispatch. 

Education and Education 

The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop and maintain a positive and professional business relationship with internal and external customers is vital. The candidate should have formal instruction and job-related experience with various consumer technologies including but not exclusively computers, phone and conference systems, and computer networks. Experience and familiarity with telecommunication access solutions, DSL and fiber access technologies, and wireless access systems is highly desirable. 

Preference will be given to candidates with technical certifications including A+, Network+ and MCP. Bachelor of Science degree is desirable.
